SOny FS5 EVF Recpol Pro Shoulder Rig from Zacuto

Next Gen Recoil Accessories

Next Generation Recoil Rigs are all about BALANCE! We put together the best possible mix of components to create rigs that highlight you and your camera. Recoil is about strength and comfort. We want your rig to fit you perfectly, so you can concentrate on what you're shooting. All day shoots don't scare us! Take your rig from shoulder to tripod in a flash and always be ready to Recoil. Below you'll find a breakdown of some of the core components of our Recoil rigs. We start out with our universal baseplate and build from there to add monitoring, focus, stability, and accessory attachments. Check out our custom built rigs here or shop accessories to build a unique rig that's right for you.

VCT Pro Baseplate

The VCT Pro baseplate is compatible with all cameras on the market including the Canon C100 and C100 Mark II, C300, and C300 Mark II, C500, RED Epic, Scarlet, One, Dragon, Sony FS7, F5, F55, DSLRs, ARRI Amira, Alexa, AJA Cion, all Blackmagic cameras and many more. The VCT Pro baseplate has a built-in, curved shoulder pad, standard v-wedge and screw hole tripod connectors, removable, extendable 6.5 inch iris rods and rows of ¼ 20 screw holes along the sides for accessories. The lightweight, adjustable rod mount is set far back in the plate, offering plenty of accessory-capable area under the camera lens. This allows you to position your camera further back on the plate, keeping the balance point of your rig directly over your shoulder. The red sliding top plate has 11" on adjustment allowing for quick lens changes and for you to perfectly balance your rig. The VCT Pro Baseplate is the core of our Next Generation Recoil Pro rigs, designed for balance and comfort for every camera.

Halfcage Rail

halfcage_rail_02The Halfcage Rail attaches to the Zacuto VCT Universal baseplate with a rail and two 1/4" 20 screws. It creates a solid, universal cage structure around the side and top of your camera rig and is adjustable to work with all camera shapes and sizes. It creates great stability, giving your camera a sturdy side grip and the ability to add a top grip. The handle itself is hand tooled, fine, three-quarter maple, and the top rail is perfect for attaching accessories like, arms, lights, and a Recoil Handle Top Grip.

Recoil Handle and Camera Top Mounts

A top grip rounds out any rig. Use it to comfortably move your rig from shoulder to tripod, for low mode shooting, and much more. Our universal Recoil Handle attaches to our 3" or 5" Z-Rail, the Halfcage Rail which attaches to our VCT Universal Baseplate (perfect for DSLR and mirrorless set ups), and is also part of our camera specific top mounts. recoilhandle3f5_topplate_01Panasonic GH4 with Zacuto Gratical HD EVFhelmetkit_01

Gratical EVF and EVF Mount

gratical x and gratical hd evf from zacutoArguably the most important rig accessory is a viewfinder. Our Gratical HD and Gratical X EVFs have a5.4 million pixel micro-OLED display with 10,000:1 contrast ratio, high quality precision optics with a built in diopter, and a powerful FPGA dual core processor. The HD model comes fully packed with all professional features including peaking, scopes, LUTs and much more. (PLUS - when you bundle a Gratical HD with a Recoil you save $350! Find out more here.) The Gratical X comes with only basic software and allows the user to custom build the software that's right for them. Recoil rigs position your camera over your shoulder for balance and comfort, this means all monitoring must be moved forward and directly to your eye. The Axis Mini EVF mount attaches to the Recoil Handle and will mount your Gratical EVF and every other EVF on the market via either side mounted rosette or ¼” 20 on the bottom or top of your EVF. The Axis can be adjusted to any position in a 360-degree space.

Handgrips and Z-Drive with Tornado

Get a grip! Stable, adjustable, and quick-release. Our Zgrip Z-Mount Zwivel is an all purpose, universal handgrip that attaches to any 15mm rod. It is adjustable at the top and at a ball joint by the grip with quick release levers so you can find the perfect position. Many modern cameras incorporate a removable grip that attaches to the camera via a cable and incorporate various camera functions. Our Grip Relocators for the Canon Cinema EOS lineplace the camera grip as a front handgrip for comfort, accessibility, and balance. We also offer a Rosette Minimount which can mount a number of accessories, including the removable handgrip for the Sony PXW-FS7. It really is the best of both worlds. The Zacuto Z-Drive is a unique, universal direct drive follow focus. Because it has a universal joint and no internal gears it can’t develop play. It attaches to a single 15mm diameter rod and curves away from the operator at a 60 degree angle creating space and distance from the lens. This is the perfect follow focus for a Next Generation Recoil rig set up where the camera is directly over your shoulder. The Tornado attaches to the Z-Drive via the whip port. These products combine to create a unique mechanical follow focus handgrip perfect for single operator shoulder mounted work. Z-Drive follow focuszgrip_zwivel2hand grip
