DP and Managing Director
Sebastian Wiegärtner is Director of Photography and Managing Director of an owner-operated advertising agency. He grew up near Nuremberg, Germany, where he’s still living, but now involved in many international projects. After his first corporate film about a wallpaper factory he garnered a lot of attention, and he is now considered one of the most prominent Video DSLR experts in Germany. Frank Suffert, a Los Angeles based film producer, caught attention of Sebastian Wiegärtner and booked him for a shoot as a Director of Photography at Paris Fashion Week for a well known designer.
In addition to commercials and corporate films his greatest passion is the documentary genre. In 2010 Sebastian Wiegärtner was DP of a documentary that was recently broadcast. It was entirely shot with digital SLR cameras. After that experience he learned the caveats of these cameras and has gone on to teach his accumulated knowledge to his participants at workshops.
Sebastian Wiegärtner is using social media as a main communication channel for his work. In addition to Twitter and Facebook he regularly publishes useful tips, news and reviews on his blog. Social Media helped him spark his career as a filmmaker while gaining knowledge from such online platforms, his ‘virtual teachers’, so he also decided to share his gained knowledge with the community that helped him so much.
