zacuto_redrock0247.jpg (57898 bytes) The key to a very front heavy system like this one is balance.  Otherwise, you will be fighting your tripod and not achieving steady tilts.  Having the Zacuto Double Mount™ on the back of the rods with a battery, monitor, hard drive, wireless units and even potential weights is key to counterbalance.  Also, extra rod extensions help in allowing you to slide the Zacuto Double Mount™ back or forward to achieve correct balance.  Depending on the camera, the Zacuto Baseplate™ gives you adjustability to slide the camera forward or aft on the baseplate giving you exact lens positioning over the rods.  The tripod plate as well can shift forward or aft compensating for a tripod that may not have a sliding baseplate.  This complete adjustability is necessary when creating such a heavy and long camera package.  A Sachtler Video18 or larger is needed for this 25lb+ package.  Perfect balance with rock solid stability is easy to achieve with the Zacuto Universal Camera Support System™, which makes for comfortable operation with many options for monitor placements and other operator preferences.

Redrock M2 Handheld Operation with the Zacuto Universal Camera Support System™
The trick to this very front heavy camera package is rod extensions and counterbalance weight in the back of the camera package to balance the weight on your shoulder.  Using the Zacuto DoubleMount at the back end of the rods helps with balance while allowing you to have battery power for the camera and monitor as well as giving you mounting options for your hard drive, wireless mics or other gear.  Because the image outputs from the Redrock upside down, the HVX200's flip out screen and viewfinder is unusable.  The solution for this is the Zacuto Zgrips with the MicroMount and Israeli arm to attach an upside down 7" monitor to act as your viewfinder in handheld mode.  Focus control is achieved with a Zacuto 1' whip in your left hand.  A Zacuto 6" rubber shoulder pad beneath the Zacuto Baseplate snaps onto the rods for shoulder comfort and balance.
