Blackmagic 4K and 6K Pocket Camera Basic Cage
The Blackmagic 4K and 6K Pocket (BMPCC) Camera Cage is our “no-cage” cage. It is lightweight and compact, and packs in a ton of features! It includes a Zacuto camera hand strap for a secure and comfortable grip on the camera. The cage also comes with strain relief clamps and right angle adapters for both the USB and HDMI connectors.
The top of the cage includes numerous ¼ 20 for mounting accessories. It also has a built-in Z-Rail for mounting an optional top handle or other accessories. The bottom of the cage has 2 ¼" 20 threads and a 3/8" 16 thread for a tripod plate and a built-in Arca Swiss compatible plate to mount to any Arca Swiss compatible quick release mounting base like the ACT Mounting Plate. This allows you to move quickly from handheld, to shoulder mount, to tripod shooting.
If you’d like to add rods onto your cage, you can slide the cage into our ACT Baseplate and from there you can also build a shoulder rig.
The cage is designed for full access to the camera’s battery door and full button control. There is also an optional Metabones adapter support and SSD holder.
This cage does not work with the Blackmagic 6K PRO.

Tactical Handle- Top or Side Handle- Our most versatile handle! With the turn of one ratcheting lever, this handle can be a top handle, left hand grip, or right hand grip- use it where you need it for your shooting style. The slim design fits comfortably in your hand. Along the top is a Z-Rail (NATO rail), giving you multiple ¼ 20 screw holes for mounting accessories like an Atomos Recorder or small monitor with our Universal Monitor Mount. It also has a coldshoe mount and 15mm rod port for mounting additional accessories like one of our Axis Mini or Axis Micro, EVF Mounts.
The Zarn, inspired by filmmaker Clinton Harn, is a railed mounted wood handgrip. It slides onto any Z-Rail, or any compatible rail*. It was designed to be mounted on the side of our camera cages but can mount on any cage with rails. The ball shape grip allows for smooth camera movement in the palm of your hand and is best utilized with a “ball and socket” technique.
*Compatible rails are - NATO, SWAT, RED, PICATINNY, and WOODEN CAMERA rails.
