Zacuto doesn’t usually power cameras unless they are 12 volts because power surges can damage the cameras voltage regulator as well as the camera. The Battery Plate mounts to the Zacuto Red Plate, (which mounts to the DoubleMount). 1. My Battery Plate delivers power to all of my camera accessories.
Camera Package		[Kam-er-a Pack-eje] thing, noun Zacuto custom design	The total collection of parts needed to shoot your film. Zacuto designs camera packages. We use our own parts as a conduit to connect all of these devices together to create a camera package. 1. Mount the camera package onto the dolly for our next shot.
Depth-of-Field Adapter (DOF)		[De-pth of Fee-ld A-dapt-ter] thing, noun Letus, RedRock, Brevis	Device used for creating shallow (less) depth-of-field. The DOF adapter emulates the depth-of-field of a 35mm motion picture camera and reproduces it on a 1/3" chip of a video camera. 1. My depth-of-field adapter allows me to have my actor in the foreground sharp and my actor 3 feet behind him out of focus.
Dolly		[doll-ee] thing, noun Losmandi, Panther, Elmack	Device used to move the camera through space. The dolly also lets a person view the scene from a moving vantage point. 1. Let's create a curve here so the dolly can move around the actor.
DoubleMount		[Dub-bel Mou'nt] thing, noun Zacuto Invention	Device attached to 15mm rods used to mount (2) 3/8 16" and (2) 1/4 20" articulating arms or (2) Zround mounts for use with (2) Zamerican arms, ZUDS or 15mm rods. The DoubleMount also attaches to the Zacuto Red Plate. 1. Attach the DoubleMount so we can use our Zamerican arms to mount a monitor or FireStore.
DP		[Dee-P] person, noun DOP, Cinematographer	DP stands for Director of Photography, sometimes called DOP or cinematographer. DP is responsible for the look of the picture. That includes lighting and camera movement. 1. My DP is one of the most important people on my set.
Follow Focus		[Fol-lo Fo-cus] thing, noun Petroff, Chrosziel	Device used for pulling focus from pre-rehearsed marks made on a white disk. As the actors move or the focus needs to be changed, the focus puller turns the wheel and adjusts the focus accordingly. Thus repeatable focus is achieved. 1. As soon as John finishes his lines, use the follow focus to rack to Judy in the background.
Heavy Load Support (HLS)		[He-ve Lo-d Sa-port]thing, noun Zacuto Invention	The Zacuto HVX200 Heavy Load Support (HVX-HLS) helps to support the HVX200 handle against potentially harmful downward pressure. 1. I installed my Heavy Load Support in 2 seconds and now my HVX200 handle is protected.
Q-Release		[Qu-re-lease] thing, noun Zacuto Invention	Device used for attaching, adjusting and balancing a shoulder pad on a handheld camera package. 1. I attached my Q-Release towards the front of the baseplate to achieve perfect camera package balance.
Lunchbox		[La-nch Box] thing, noun Zacuto Invention	The Lunchbox is an 11 pound counterbalance weight mounted on the back of the camera package while shooting hand-held. In order for a camera to be balanced, it needs an equal amount of weight on the back of the camera package as well as on the front. It sounds heavy but as long as it is balanced, it will feel right. 1. I balanced my camera package by using a Zacuto Lunchbox.
Newsman		[New-z-man] thing, noun Zacuto Invention	A small Zacuto camera package that includes: Zacuto Universal Baseplate, Zgrips, Zoffset, Shoulder Pad & Lunchbox. The Newsman will mount a small camcorder, i.e. HVX200 and allow you to shoulder mount it, balance it and have your eye in the viewfinder of a center mounted read viewfinder.

MiniMount		[Min-ee Mou'nt] thing, noun Zacuto Invention	The Minimount attaches to 15mm rods and allows a 3/8 16" connection. It can also attach a Zround Mount for quick-release arms and rods. 1. The MiniMount is needed for small setups using an articulating arm and monitor.
Red Plate		[Red Pla-t] thing, noun Zacuto Invention	The Zacuto Red Plate holds up to 4 wireless plates and attaches to a Zacuto Double Mount. This product is required to mount a battery plate. 1. Thanks to my Zacuto Red Plate, I finally have a place to mount all my wireless microphones.
Repeatable Focus Gear		[Re-peat-a-bel Fo-cus Gehr] thing, noun Zacuto Invention	A custom HVX200 repeatable focus ring with stops. The Zacuto Repeatable Focus Gear is the only product of its kind to allow the HVX200 to switch between having standard hard stops at minimum focus/infinity and Macro mode. 1. Warranty		[War-ran-te] thing, noun Zacuto Lifetime Warranty	Amount of time the Manufacturer is willing to repair or replace a defect or damage in its product. Most companies have either a 60 day, 90 day or 1 year warranty. Zacuto brand products carry a lifetime warranty. 1. I'm comforted in knowing that Zacuto gives me a lifetime warranty. I never need to worry about replacing my Zacuto products.
Whip		[Wh'p] thing, noun Zacuto, Chrosziel, Arri	The Whip snaps into the Follow Focus allowing users to adjust focus from above, below or while moving on a dolly. In CU shots just touching the follow focus adds some vibration to your shot. The Zacuto Whip works with all follow focus units and makes for smooth focus pulls without camera shake. 1. Grab me a whip from my AC bag so I can do this focus pull.
Wireless Adapter		[Whi'r-les a-dap-ter] thing, noun Zacuto invention	A Zacuto Wireless Adapter is a bracket that mounts to a Zacuto Wireless Plate and allows any Z-Lock to be mounted to it. Thus, you can now mount your Wireless Plate on any size rod. 1. I attached my wireless adapter to my wireless plate and then screwed a 19mm Z-Lock to it. Now I can place a Wireless mic on a 19mm rod.
Wireless Plate		[Whi'r-les Play't] thing, noun Zacuto invention	The universal Wireless Plate is a device that mounts to any of 8 positions on the Zacuto Red Plate. It allows for mounting of any wireless unit, down-converter, transmitter, etc. to your camera package. The universal Wireless Plate can also be used in conjunction with a wireless bracket and Z-lock to mount on any size rod. 1. Use a Wireless Plate and mount a wireless receiver to your camera package.
Z-Lock		[Zee lock] thing, noun Zacuto invention	The Z-lock is a Zacuto trademarked female receptacle slotted so as to clamp to a rod and tighten to it with a lever. Z-Lock's come in 15mm, 19mm & 5/8" (Panavision size) which is also works with C-Stands, Light Stands & Maffers. 1. I used a 15mm Z-lock on my wireless plate so I was able to slide it on a rod.
Z-LWS		[Zee LWS] thing, noun Zacuto invention	The first universal lightweight support plate to work on all Sony, Panasonic, JVC100/200 series & Canon XL series cameras. The Z-LWS also works on Sony, Panasonic, Canon, JVC & Chrosziel tripod adapter plates. It has a built in adjustable double Z-Release that allows a person to mount Zamerican arms, ZUDS or 15mm rods. The Z-LWS can attach any length front rods to accommodate any matte box and follow focus. 1. Once mounted to my camera, my Z-LWS allows me to mount any accessory I want.
Z-Mount		[Zee Mou'nt] thing, noun Zacuto invention	Device used for adapting two 15mm rods or arms at opposing angles. 1. I used my Z-mount on my Zgrip arm to attach a Monitor to it.
Z-Release		[Zee re-lease] thing, noun Zacuto invention	Z-Release is Zacuto's quick-release design. 15mm ped and hole style mounting with a locking lever. Once locked it can't unwind until unlocked. 1. The ZicroMount is part of Zacuto's Z-Release line. 2. Insert a Zamerican articulating arm into a ZicroMount and lock for the most solid connection.
Z-Riser		[Zee-ri-ser] thing, noun Zacuto invention	A Z-Riser allows a second set of adjustable rods to rise or lower to accommodate high or offset lens mounts. The Z-Riser is used on the Letus Extreme, MovieTube Jr. and RED cameras. 1. The Z-riser allows me to get my matte box aligned with the center of my lens.

Zacutoize		[Zaa-cuut-o-eyez] verb Zacuto invention	The process of taking existing products and using Zacuto products to connect them all together. 1. I will Zacutoize my SI2K camera by adding a Zacuto baseplate, DoubleMount & Zgrips.
Zamerican		[Za-mare-a-ken] thing, noun Israeli arm	The new standard in articulating arms. Both ends of the arm are 15mm rods used for peg and hole style connecting. The Zamerican Arm is essentially an articulating 15mm rod. Both ends can be extended with rod extensions and a multitude of quick-release connecting devices can attach to either end of the arm. Arms come in small, Medium and large. They are also referred to as Zarm-L, Zarm-M & Zarm-S. 1. Grab your Zamerican arm and lets attach a monitor to this Z-Mount.
Zdapter		[Za-dap-ter] thing, noun Zacuto invention	The Zdapter allows a person to mount different size rods, stands and arms to mount to 15mm rods, 19mm rods, 5/8" light stands, c-stands or Panavision rods. 1. This Zdapter is ideal for mounting a monitor to a rolling stand in the studio.
Zdapter Backplate		[Za-dap-ter bak-play't] thing, noun Zacuto invention	The Zdapter backplate allows you to mount Zacuto Z-locks; 15mm (lightweight), 19mm (studio), 5/8" (Panavision rods, light stand spuds/C-Stand arms) in several different configurations. 1. Zgrips		[Zee-grips] thing, noun Zacuto invention	Handgrips designed to keep your hands and forearms at a low, 90 degree angle to your body for comfort and control. Grip arms can move forward or backward or be removed by twisting one lever (while on tripod) Each Handgrip fully articulates. 1. My Zgrips gave me incredible control during handheld shooting.
Zgrip Handle		[Zee-grip Han-del] thing, noun Zacuto invention	An articulating handgrip with 1/2 inch thread. The thread can be used to attach Zacuto rods or Zamerican arms. 1. By loosening the red lever on my Zgrip handle, the handgrip can fully articulate.
Zgrip Z-Mount		[Zee-grip Zee Mou'nt] thing, noun Zacuto invention	An articulating handgrip with a 3.5 inch rod and a Z-Mount. It easily mounts to any 15mm rod with the quick-release handgrip. 1. This Zgrip Zmount comes in handy all the time!
Zgrip Zicro		[Zee-grip Zii-cro] thing, noun Zacuto invention	An articulating handgrip with a 3.5 inch rod and a Zicro Mount. The Zgrip Zicro allows you to mount equipment to any 1/4 20 screw with the quick-release handgrip. 1. I used my Zgrip Zicro to elevate my camera so I can shoot over crowds.
Zgrip Zdapter		[Zee-grip Za-dap-ter] thing, noun Zacuto invention	An articulating handgrip with 3.5 inch rod and Zdapter. The Zgrip Zdapter mounts to any 15mm rod with quick-release capability. By adding a 19mm or 5/8 inch Z-Lock you can mount the handgrip to a Panavision or 19mm rod system. 1. With my Zgrip Zdapter, I can mount anything in a handheld configuration.

Zicro Mount		[Zii-cro Mou'nt] thing, noun Zacuto invention	Device with male 1/4 20" screw for attaching to any 1/4 20" female tap; thus making it a 15mm Z-Lock. Zamerican arms, 15mm rods, and ZUD's can then be inserted and locked. This now becomes a quick-releasable mount. 1. I put the Zicro Mount on the bottom of my monitor and now I can quick-release it to a Zamerican arm.
ZipGear		[Zip Geer] thing, noun Zacuto invention	The Zacuto Universal ZipGear works on any camera, prime or zoom lens. The kit comes with 16" plastic gear and black gear locking housing. Just wrap the gear around the lens, cut to size, press on the gear locking housing and tighten. Installation takes one minute. Since the gear does not add any girth to the lens, this unique gear keeps the rotation of the lens the same. 1. A ZipGear Prime Lens Kit will provide enough gears for all four of my prime lenses. See Video.
Zoffset		[Zoff-set] thing, noun Zacuto invention	The Zoffset allows you to shift the lightweight support rods 3 inches to the right and 2 inches up, thus enabling you to position your eye in the viewfinder of most palm camcorders with viewfinders in the back and center. It is meant to be used as part of a Zacuto Universal Baseplate System. The Zoffset can also be adjusted for differences in eye and shoulder height. 1. I used my Zoffset to get my eye in the viewfinder while shooting handheld.
ZotShoe		[Zat-shu] thing, noun Zacuto invention	The Zotshoe connects to the shoe or hot shoe of the camera, and it is topped with a female 1/4 20" thread. This allows you to mount a ZicroMount giving the top your camera Quick-Release. Now by flipping the red lever on your ZicroMount, you can quickly remove an articulating arm holding your monitor. 1. A Zotshoe & ZicroMount are necessary to add quick-release to a hot shoe.
Zround Mount		[Za-round mou'nt] thing, noun Zacuto invention	Intermediate device used for attaching a Zamerican arm or other 15mm rod to a DoubleMount or MiniMount. 1. My Zround Mount is attached to my DoubleMount. Now I can quick-release my Zamerican arm to it.
Zubby		[Zub-bee] thing, noun Zacuto invention	Nickname for Zacuto small Zamerican arm. 1. Grab the Zubby and let's get this monitor mounted.
ZUD		[Zuu-d] thing, noun Zacuto invention	Use a ZUD to retrofit your existing articulating arm with Z-Release capabilities, giving you quick release action on both ends of the arm. ZUDs also have a locking screw to prevent your arm from unwinding. ZUD's come in 3/8 16", 1/4 20". See Video 1. Mounting a ZUD takes a couple of seconds but forever makes your articulating arm quick-release.
