Zacuto Sony FS700 Rigs

The New Sony FS700 Camera

Welcome to the Sony NEX-FS700 HD Super Slow Motion camcorder! The latest workhorse in Sony’s line-up of NXCAM interchangeable E-mount camcorders offers more practical options and streamlined ergonomics over their Sony FS100 model.

The Sony FS700 can capture footage at up to an amazing 960 frames per second and features a range of new capabilities such as 3G HD-SDI output and the top of the line 4K “Exmor” Super 35 CMOS sensor, which is specialized for high sensitivity and low noise.

Other big improvements in the new FS700 over the FS100 include a much sturdier, bigger top handle, built-in ND filters, a removable camera control grip on a 12″ cable, and a ‘hold’ button to turn off the buttons. Very useful when working shoulder mounted so you don’t change your settings if the camera side brushes against your body (it’s the little things that count!).

Priced under $10,000, the Sony NEX-FS700 offers huge advantages to the indie filmmaker. The large sensor offers increased control over depth of field, higher sensitivity in low light, lower image noise, and an outstanding dynamic range. The FS700 handle includes a mounted shotgun microphone and the body has two practically positioned XLR inputs for external audio making this perfect for small crew shoots.

Sony FS700 Grip Relocator

Zacuto Sony FS700 Grip Relocator

Our most exciting product for the Sony FS700 is our FS700 Grip Relocator. The Sony removable camera grip can now be securely and usefully attached onto any 15mm rod. The Sony removable grip features four easy-to-use buttons including Start/Stop, Photo, 4x/8x expandable focus, and push-button auto iris. The Sony FS700 grip screws into the Zacuto Grip Relocator with a ¼ 20 screw and is secured in place with a standard Arri rosette. The Relocator attaches to the rod with Zacuto’s Zwivel technology. The 360 degree locking movement of the Zwivel allows you to position the handle at an angle for optimal comfort and rig compatibility. You can place the FS700 Relocator at a handgrip for shoulder mounted work or anywhere on a rig that is most comfortable for you and your set up. This piece will be a lifesaver for comfort and accessibility when working shoulder mounted with the Sony FS700.

The description on the FS700 Shooter says it allows easy on and off tripod use? How? I don’t see a way of attaching a QR plate to the bottom of the mini baseplate and there isn’t room on the rods to attach anything else where it would need. To be located?

Hi Andy, You can attach any tripod plate underneath our mini baseplate. There are standard mounting holes. http://store.zacuto.com/mini-baseplate-with-12in-rods/
