Zacuto Films Webisodic Series: FilmFellas and [ critics ]
In his article, “Ads or Content: Marketing with a Branded Web Series,” Jedrzej Jonasz (JJ), looks at the endless opportunities for companies, such as Zacuto USA, to brand their products or services through the use of producing original creative content, such as Webisodic programs. "FilmFellas, which is probably one of the most authentic and entertaining talk shows about indie film and video production I have ever seen…and I was a bit surprised to find out that the company behind these shows is not a television network, but a camera accessory brand,” says JJ, “And it is just as entertaining and informative as anything I would expect to see on TV or Hulu.”
It’s about the creative. Not the product. During his recent interview, JJ asked some direct questions about the creation of FilmFellas and [ critics ] and the reasoning behind a manufacturer creating and producing creative content, “We do not promote our products at all on our shows. We don’t even mention our name Zacuto. That’s a big no no. Compelling webisodic content or entertaining content will do it. it’s the future. Get with it.” says Steve Weiss, Director FilmFellas/critics.
