Once again my buddy Kevin Shahinian takes us on a cinematic journey with his latest concept film “City of Lakes.” This time he takes the wedding concept film to a whole other level by combining the actual live wedding into the story. It’s amazing how he is able to dramatically show us the romance that led to the wedding we are watching by mixing in a little bit of a traditional wedding film (reality/documentary) with a fictional story, including dramatic tension.
He also throws in his touch of “Bollywood” with music and choreography. Shot entirely on location in India with HD DSLRs (Canon 5D & 7D), with an all star team of Patrick Moreau, Joe Simon and Casey Warren. This film shows what these cameras are capable of but more importantly, it’s the creative camera play with poetic framing, dramatic aerial shots and Steadicam that gives it that touch of Hollywood glamour.
