Editor
Daniel Skubal was a lead editor and member of the marketing, graphic design and video production teams at Zacuto. His passion for film has been a firmly planted seed since childhood. He graduated with a BA from Purdue University, double majoring in film/video studies and communication. Daniel has experience in film, live video, graphic design and commercial advertising. Outside of his work with Zacuto, he does freelance work, specializing in cinematography, graphic design, photography and editing. He also has several personal projects in development.
Daniel is an advocate of perpetually learning and is constantly trying to expand his knowledge on the craft of filmmaking and teach others as he continues towards his career goals and aspirations. He continues his independent study, focusing on the areas of cinematography, graphic design, motion graphics, photography, directing, editing and screenwriting.
His accolades include the recently-awarded Emmy for winning series (Midwest Chapter): "The Great Camera Shootout 2010". He also was the director of photography on two commercial spots that received ADDY awards (Best in Show ADDY in 2008 and a Gold ADDY in 2009), a Lafayette Chamber of Commerce award for video production, and several awards through Purdue University's film program including an award for best cinematography, and best film for two separate years in Purdue University's Digital Cinema festival, and most recently received an award for Outstanding Career Achievements as a graduate in the Film/Video Studies program at Purdue.
